14 Tahun Bersama KISARA..

Posting ini saya edit sedikit dan saya reposting untuk bisa ikut mengingat 14 tahun perjalanan KISARA. Fourteen years?..Yeah, rite..Hampir 14 tahun berjalan bersama my beloved KISARA. And this is the profile of KISARA;

KISARA PKBI Bali was established on May 14th 1994 as a Youth Information, Education and Counseling Center in Bali. The vision of KISARA PKBI Bali is: “Responsible Youth”, with the mission is providing preventive action through information, education, communication and services in youth SRH including STI/HIV/AIDS and drugs abuse problems.

General objective of KISARA PKBI Bali is: to develop the participation of youth in order to know, to prevent and to handle their own SRH and rights problems by their selves and responsible for their attitudes and behaviors. And the specific objectives are 1) to be the place of youths and develop youth empowerment therefore they can freely asking questions, consultation and to get SRH services in line with their needs, and 2) to provide information and in SRH including STI/HIV/AIDS and drugs abuse problems for youthIn order to reach these objectives, there are many activities implemented on KISARA PKBI Bali’s programs, such as: 1) Youth counseling service (face to face, phone, letter, email, radio, newspaper column), 2) Youth regular discussion, 3) Radio and TV programs, 4) Lectures and seminar, 5) Edutainment, 6) School outreach, 7) Training and campaign, Media development, 9) Mini library, 10) Suvey, data collection and publication, and 11) advocacy.During implementing the activities, KISARA PKBI Bali have been assisting by volunteers with divers educational background therefore it is hoped they could facilitated the problems faced by youths. Most of the volunteers are still young and they together assist youth to make other youths become responsible youths. Moreover, they have access to get in the youths societies so KISARA PKBI Bali including its program can easily in and it can increase the success of KISARA PKBI Bali’s programs. PKBI in which KISARA PKBI Bali is part of is, is the Non Government Organization (NGO) which is a pioneer of family planning organization in Indonesia has spread networking nationally and internationally. Beside of that IPPA has a strength structure begins from headquarter, chapters into branches and this can support the SRH program that provided by KISARA PKBI Bali.In providing and giving information access to the youth, KISARA PKBI Bali already have been done youth information program on 3 radio stations regularly, 1 youth tabloid biweekly and various youth interactive discussion on local television. KISARA PKBI Bali also already have been done routine lecture to the schools, youth groups and youth traditionally groups (Sekeha Teruna-Teruni in Bali). KISARA also providing some SRH education that popular in youth community such as seminar and edutainment with the label: Infotainment Kisara, Mafia Kisara and Kisaravaganza. The KISARA`s routine program for supporting the teachers to give the SRH education to the students at school based on information technology modules called DAKU! or WSWM (World Starts With Me) also continue successfully. The KISARA`s clients and target for this Information, Education, Communication (IEC) program is youth that aged 10-24 year. Mostly from the group of 15-20 year. From 1994 until now, more than 100.000 youths already reached information by KISARA PKBI Bali, (estimated from 8.000 youths per year that already got the IEC program).And for providing access for youth services since 1994, KISARA PKBI Bali has been done the youth counseling services for the 12.454 youth clients. Most of them are from the phone counseling (62%), face to face counseling (31%) and others by mail. Recently, KISARA PKBI Bali developing the counseling by Internet and SMS (Short Message Service). KISARA PKBI Bali has noted that more than 25% cases of youth counseling is related to youth sexual activities. In 2006, KISARA recorded 1416 counseling cases consist of 1154 counseling through telephone, 105 face to face counseling, 54 through letter and 102 generated from email. The trend of 1416 counseling shows that youth did counseling after they enter their sexual active age. The begin of youth pre-marriage sexual involvement occurred because they want to try it as the situation permitted and make them do so without planning. Others said it is also caused by the pressure of peer-group, impact of media, and lack of knowledge on sexual reproductive health. These cases mentioned also sexual harassment, unwanted pregnancy, abortion and many more.
